Thank you very much. I have been to a few of the places you have been in the Western Isles but you saw them by bike which makes it so much better! Thanks for the wonderful blog I put in a link to your blog from my website! Yours, Beth

    Hi there

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your blog about your cycle down the Outer Hebrides. You’re a very good writer and captured the spirit of the islands well. I’ve been to these islands many times myself (although not St Kilda) and love them all but especially Barra.

Funny story for you. We once went to the island of Tiree and hired bikes. It’s a totally flat island but so flipping windy we said “Sod this for a game of soldiers, let’s hire a car instead.” Only thing you could hire on the island was a flat back truck – with no handbrake! Although as the island was totally flat, it was the one place it didn’t matter! (Oh well it was funny at the time.)

Also, you’re photos were great as well.

    Kind regards, Neil

    Marcus,
I’d like to get in touch about possibly using one of your photos posted on Flickr for a presentation I’m preparing for an education conference in August.

The photo — http://www.flickr.com/photos/marcusjb/432600086/in/photostream/ — does have a creative commons license, but I’d like to be able to spotlight the gentleman in the straightjacket. Given the license attached, I didn’t want to do that without your permission.

    Thanks,

    Chris
